About my dad's matches

My dad was a lifelong ad man, and he had the match collection to prove it. When I was growing up, I was fascinated with his drawer of matches, which contained what seemed like endless packs from all corners of the globe. When he died in 2009, I took the drawer and emptied it into a bag and brought it home. I've been using the matches since, rather glibly I suppose. I've gone through a few packs and thrown them away, which is what you're meant to do with matches, I guess. But more and more, these seem like true treasures to me, both in design and personal history. Being that we live in an age where such things are not all that hard to document, I resign all excuse and set myself on this simple good work.
